Profile of Our Clients

Each business is different in not only what they offer but how they offer it and to whom they offer it. Take my company as an example. When I did an analysis of my clients list, some factors came into light that surprised me. Some of the common traits among my long-term clients are:

1. They are very competitive: they request help with gaining several listings in organic, paid listing and business listing sections in Google, Yahoo! Bing and several industry related directories so they can dominate. One client was so competitive that she wanted her site to come up whenever someone in the Triangle area typed the letter ‘c’ into Google search bar as that letter started the keyword for her main service in the geographical region.

2. They enjoy domain name investing: they encourage buying several domain names after keyword research has been done. They love the fact that it is a white hat tactic to promote certain products and services separately via mini sites and they do not have to be confined to just one main website.

3. Adventurous: They know that there is more than one way of gaining their desired goals and if one didn’t work, there is possibility that another strategy will. Sometimes I feel like a shopkeeper in a candy store where online marketing strategies are the candies and my clients want to taste each and every one of them!

4. Don’t get stressed out: My clients have seen all kinds of ranking challenges and don’t let it stress them out too much. They understand that gaining rank is very important for their business, but letting low rank freak them out is not helpful. Calm and organized approach to ranking challenges is the best way to go.

5. Good communicators: they know how to explain what they want from their websites: more phone calls, email leads, walk-ins?. They ask questions to find out if certain goals are attainable and if yes, how?

6. Respectful and courteous: It really makes my day when they show that my efforts are appreciated and give credit where it is due.

7. They make decisions fast and stick with them. Fickleness is not their strong point.

8.They consider me as their adviser and a partner to help them make important marketing decisions rather than a wizard who can quickly fix ranking problems.

9. Share sales information (after I sign a NDA, of course) so that I can help where it really matters: boosting their net income.

10. They are small business owners with earnings less than $10 million dollars per year and have less than 15 employees.
